Today's layout is a picture of Rosalie and Isabel. This picture was taken in Las Vegas, NV last summer. We were about to go to a wedding and we stopped by to get something to eat because I didn't want the kids to get hungry. As you can see they are both holding chicken nuggets. Rosalie and Isabel about 5 years apart, but Isabel is growing so fast that they look like they are closer in age. Rosalie is such a good sister to Isabel. She even helps her with her homework everyday...I know I'm suppose to do that but I wanted Rosalie to do it because I believe it would make them closer together and Isabel just response better with her big sister than her mommy. They have their moments of fighting, but who sibling that doesn't. I love this picture because Isabel try to smile but her mouth is full, and Rosalie just looks so sweet. I pray that they stay close as they get older. The paper pack I used here is by Heidi Swapp and as you can see I had some spray painting going on. I wanted to infuse some colors without using other papers. I really enjoyed that and it is kind of messy because the ink I used are by SmoochSpritz and they really have good inks. For embellishments, I used Alphabet stickers by The Paper Studios and some washy tape by Heidi Swapp. The hearts and crown on the right side: I used my BigShot and Sizzix dies to have different heart sizes. I really enjoyed making this layout because it was simple, but I really wanted it to be fun too. If you like it, please comment. Thank you.

I love this picture of my son Dillon and my daughter Rosalie. This picture was taken at their last Tae Kwon Do tournament. It always scares me when they enter in the tournament because you never really know if they are going to get hurt bad...But I am confident on my kids, so I try to cheer them as they try their best to beat their opponent. I love this picture because they look so carefree and looks like they were enjoying themselves in spite of my gut churning from worry. My layout has a touch of old world theme. I wanted to show that its okay to smile because their life is just starting and to enjoy it. The background paper was from my old stack by My Mind's Eve (Lost&Found collection). For my embellishments, I used some Heidi Swapp, and by Me&MyBigIdeas. I really enjoyed making this layout and I hope you liked it too. Thank you and leave a comment please.
After almost 4 years of not making layouts, I was not sure I still know how. This new layout is Isabel turning 6 years old. I know that I say this all the time, but I really can't believe she is growing so fast and already 6 years old. I feel like no matter how organize or how much I spend time with my kids, it just doesn't feel like I have enough time to soak it all up. Time really do fly fast and before you know it your kids are moving out of your home. Isabel turning 6 means, she is more stubborn and try to push her mommy's buttons. Of course I give her multiple warning before she is reprimanded, and she uses all of those warning until she sees me grinding my teeth and counting, then that's when she stops what ever she is doing to piss me off. Isabel is so sweet. She always gives me hugs without me asking her. She is very affectionate and never shy off my hugging her. It is something that I enjoy with her, where I rub her tummy or her back. This layout, I made my design simple with multiple color splash of pink, yellow, and teal. It is very girly, and sweet because Isabel is sweet. I love this picture because it captured the moment when she was about to blow the candles...and she blew them multiple times because she wanted to repeat the process. The materials I used here are by Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic paper collections. All the flowers are by Prima flowers. I also used Heidi Swapp's washy tapes to give my layout a little pop to it.
I hope you enjoyed this layout and I will start posting more daily. If you enjoy this please leave a comment..Thank you. ![]()
I have been waiting for theseHeidi Swapp Light Box. What I love about these is that you can customize, decorate and you can put it any room you like. When you purchase the box itself does not coming with anything else but usb cord for power. The accessories are sold separately. It comes with different theme, colors and sayings. Now the box is price at around $40. Yes it is costly, but if you wait some stores like Michaels, Joann, or Hobbylobby will run 40% to 50% off. Sometimes if you are diligent on looking for deals, you find a package like I did when I bought mine at HSN and they had it at clearance + free shipping price of $20 with accessories package deal.
I placed my light boxes around my home. As you can see this one is in my craft room. I use this box to reflect my mode for that day. Like this week, Murrieta has been bombarded with rain.. I also love these light box for its versatility. Unlike other pictures on your wall, these light boxes can be change daily, weekly, and it can change to your own preferences, depending on your mood.
I love it in my kitchen!! It is the first thing that my kids see when they open the door. It really does put a smile on their faces.
I even have one for my daughters room. My daughters room is design with Paris theme and this was perfect. My kindergarten Isabel loves it because she is finally able to read and when she comes home, she run straight to her room and check what kind of saying I have place on her light box. I can't wait for Heidi Swapp to expand and add more into her light boxes collection.
For those of you who are wanting to start scrapbooking or curios about starting, well you can and it is not hard. Any age has the ability to scrapbook. It really is just about taking the time and making the time to scrapbook. I know at this time of age there are barely anytime to put a lipstick, let alone to set some time to scrapbook. You are probably saying "it's okay for her to say since she stays home and have the time". True I am blessed enough to stay home to have time to enjoy my hobby and for that I am thankful for my husband who works hard to fund my hobby. But if you are curious and would like to start...I have 3 advice for you before you embark into this wonderful world of preservation of your wonderful memories. There are 3 rules that I advice for scrapbook newbie: 1 - No Expectation...means no one expect for you to make those wonderful pages or layouts that you see in pinterest or in the magazines. No one expect for you to know all the ins and outs of scrapbook world. It is okay to ask questions and please ask questions because scrapbookers and other crafters are actually enthusiastically wants to share their passion for crafts. Crafting/scrapbooking beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Everyone has different way to decorate their pages/layouts, so you can't really judge what looks good. You are an artist, what you create is beautiful for you and that is what matters. So when you begin, don't put expectations and don't compare your pages/layouts to others. 2.- There are no orders in scrapbooking. While it is wonderful to be organize because your work space will get disorganize or you loose track what items you want to put into your layouts, it is not necessary. There are no orders on which photo you want to start first, or should you do it by theme. No!! You can make layouts on photos that inspire you at that hour, or photos that was 10 years ago that made you smile. As you get advance in your craft, you tend to organize which project you want to start, but in the beginning just have a feel and enjoy creating something pretty in those particular photos that you want to put into an album or hanging on the wall to share to others. 3.- Don't overwhelm yourself... This is very critical. People who are not familiar with scrapbooking world, there are literally millions of products out there that will make your layouts beautiful. There are more scrapbook items compare to woman's accessories. I kid you not and when you go to a big chain store like Hobby-lobby to start your scrapbook layouts you are going to go crazy because there are tons of items that you will get overwhelm and probably will not continue at all. My advice is to know the basics first and you can get these at Hobby-lobby, and as you progress you tend to just pick what you need compare to what you like. Be aware that these items aren't cheap either. Yah, 1 item might cost $.99 but if you are not careful you have a huge pile in your cart that your spending more than you need to. So..make a list what you want and need then go to the store, and please try to stick to those list. I will be posting some basic items to introduce you into scrapbook world and maybe you will love it and continue make pretty things. So stay tuned for that. Below is an example of a layout. I did this layout couple of years ago and still have them. Thanks for reading and please make a comment. Thank you...Happy crafting. Wow I am so loving the new Heidi Swapp Light Box... Right now Joann has 40% off all of Heidi Swapp collection. I also purchase other quotes...Can't wait to try all of them. This particular light box is so perfect infront of my desk next to my computer. I see that quote and it keeps me moving for the rest of the day. This light box is also perfect on top ofthe dining table, fireplace, or even on bookshielves. It is very portable. Luv it!!!
Hello,
This is my new site for scrapbooking and other craft projects that I plan to do. I'm very excited because I have so many layouts that I want to do, and now that my kids are all in school. I am actually going to have a little time for myself and for my obsession of scrapbooking. It is a new year, means new adventure and new projects. I am currently working on the Heidi Swapp memory rolodex, which I find amazing and so portable? Easy and very enjoyable. I'll post a couple once they are done. So...stay tune. |
